Not Sure What’s Wrong—You Know You’re Not Okay
Sometimes, the hardest part of struggling emotionally is not knowing exactly why. You may feel overwhelmed, flat, angry, anxious, disconnected—or like you’re barely holding it together. You might be reacting more than you want to… or not reacting at all.
If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
We provide compassionate, non-judgmental counselling for people experiencing troubling emotions—whether those feelings are loud and chaotic or quiet and numbing. Our work together can help you name what’s going on, understand your emotional world, and regain a sense of balance, clarity, and strength.
😞 What Are Troubling Emotions?
“Troubling emotions” can look different for everyone. For some, it’s intense sadness or anxiety. For others, it’s numbness, irritability, overwhelm, or a sense of emptiness. You might feel like you’re overreacting—or shutting down completely.
Common emotional experiences we support:
- Feeling constantly overwhelmed or on edge
- Struggling with sadness, grief, or hopelessness
- Irritability, anger, or emotional outbursts
- Numbness or emotional disconnection
- Difficulty managing big emotions
- Feeling like you’re “too sensitive” or “too shut down”
- Emotional patterns that affect your relationships or work
- Fear of being judged or misunderstood when you open up
🌿 You Don’t Need a Diagnosis to Get Support
You don’t need to “tick all the boxes” or have everything figured out to talk to someone. Many people come to therapy saying:
“I don’t even know what I’m feeling.”
“It’s not that bad, but it’s not okay either.”
“I just don’t feel like myself.”
That’s enough. If something’s not sitting right emotionally, that’s a valid reason to seek support.
🧠 How Counselling Can Help
In therapy, you’ll find space to:
- Make sense of what you’re feeling (even if you’re not sure yet)
- Understand your emotional triggers and patterns
- Learn ways to manage and regulate intense emotions
- Reconnect with feelings that have gone “offline”
- Reduce reactivity and regain emotional balance
- Build self-awareness and resilience
- Learn to express yourself without guilt or fear
You’ll be supported with care, not analysis. You won’t be judged or “fixed”—you’ll be understood.
🧰 Therapeutic Approaches We Use
We take a pluralistic, person-centred approach, meaning we tailor therapy to you—not the other way around.
Approaches may include:
- ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) – Learn how to sit with emotion and still move toward what matters
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) – Understand the thoughts behind your feelings
- Person-Centred Therapy – A non-judgmental space where you can just be heard
- Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) – Explore how emotions work, and how to respond instead of react
- Narrative Therapy – Separate yourself from the problem and reshape the story
- Existential Therapy – Make meaning from life’s hardest emotional questions
🧡 Who This Is For
This work may be right for you if:
- You’ve been feeling emotionally out of balance
- You’re reacting in ways you don’t understand
- You’re holding in a lot—and it’s getting heavy
- You’ve tried coping, distracting, or staying busy—but something’s still off
- You’re feeling lost or emotionally “flooded” by life right now
- You want to understand yourself better, not just cope
We also work with teenagers and young adults experiencing intense or confusing emotional changes.
🌱 You Don’t Have to Keep Carrying This Alone
