Counselling

Counselling provides a constructive way to work through and face the difficult questions of life. Why am I here? What is my purpose? Who am I? What's the point? These are the ‘big’ questions at the core of our lives, and they often emerge as we navigate a crisis, face our mortality, or arrive at a turning point in our lives. By exploring the themes of mortality, personal meaning, freedom and responsibility, you’ll discover the impact these great forces are having on your behaviour and their place in the tensions you feel.

Counselling, like psychotherapy focuses on talking through life issues within the context of a safe relationship. There are many similarities between counselling and psychotherapy and often both terms are used interchangeably. Counselling usually focuses on specific problems and takes a more direct approach to address or solve the issue (counselling is practical and interested in the immediate issues). This focused approach tends to shorten the counselling process, whereas psychotherapy takes more time as it tries to uncover the underlying issues behind the presenting problem.
